Farmer's Market Time!

I'm excited about the market starting up again! We have such a fun, vibrant farmer's market in downtown Des Moines, with around 200 venders each week. Not only do we have home grown fruits & veggies, but prepared foods, bakeries (be sure to check out South Union Bread Co.), salsa venders, great crafts, and live musicians.

If you're in the area, stop by and say hi. I'll be at the market the following dates:

May 10th
June 14th, June 21st
July 5th, July 19th
August 9th, August 23rd
September 13th, September 27th
October 11th

I'm usually located at 2nd & Court but don't know what space I'll be assigned until I arrive at 6am. I'll be there rain or shine!

Junction 216 featured my Black Raspberry Soap in her purple-themed Etsy treasury today. I've been making that soap for several years now and I still love it. It's a great scent.

New addition to our family

We got a new puppy about a week ago. He's a Cockalier-a Cocker Spaniel/Cavalier King Charles Spaniel mix. He just turned 7 months old today. His previous owners named him Chevy. Amin wanted to change his name to John, I suggested Honda, Ford or maybe Mitsubishi but since we couldn't agree on a name he's keeping his original name. He's a real sweetheart but has some issues, so we're off to puppy school in a couple of weeks!

Brrr! It's so cold today. It was -6 earlier this morning but its warmed up to a balmy 1degree! Cold weather like this always make me dream of warmer climates-so my soaps start to reflect that. Here's my latest, Pink Grapefruit. It smells exactly like juicy pink grapefruit. One of my customers jokingly said it gave her heartburn just by smelling it!
